Reverend Jack Yonts II of Greenville, age 44, passed into eternal life Monday, February 18, 2008 at 3:15pm at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on May 9, 1963, in Madison, the son of Jack E. and JoAnne (Whitaker) Yonts. Jack was married on June 28, 1986, to Lori Rosser in Atlanta, GA. He was the loving and proud father of Lily and Gabriella. Jack Served as Chaplain with the Appleton Police Department; was on the Board of Directors of New Beginnings Adoption Agency of Tupelo, MI, and was a strong advocate of adoption. Many will know him as the beloved Senior Pastor of the Pentecostals of the Fox Cities since 1994.
Jack loved bow-hunting white -tailed deer; anything involving music including playing the saxophone and drums; reading; and, most of all, spending time with his family. Jack enjoyed playing pranks on his friends, and his quick wit was a source of entertainment that endeared him to all. He was gifted with unique youth ministry, he was blessed with wisdom beyond his years for pastoring, and his passion was mentoring young ministers. Jack loved people, especially those he pastored, and always saw the best in everyone.
Please pray for the Yonts family, especially Jack's wife Sis. Lori and their two daughters: Lily and Gabriella along with the Appleton church during this difficult time.
The funeral service for Jack was held Friday, Febraury 22, 2008, at THE FOX CITIES UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH, 1445 Midway Road, Menasha. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Jack's wife and children at the Westside Bank, 56 Hiram Drive, Hiram, GA 30141.
